Welcome

As President of the Issaquah City Council, I refused to raise property taxes; succesfully worked to reduce fees that were impediments to small business; and created 2 all weather turf fields. This is my second term as President and my 6th year on the Council. It is important to have stability in this time of economic uncertainty. We are blessed to live in a beautiful city, and I am committed to a balance of:
Community: Issaquah is a diverse community that we celebrate. I will work  to continue funding for community based organizations that reach out and comfort the homeless, seniors and families in need. I have and will work hard to pass legislation that will improve our schools.

  • Commerce: I will continue to work in creating high paying and long term employment as we have achieved with the new Swedish Medical Center.
  • Compassion: I will work to protect the environment that we have been given and ensuring funding for affordable housing, and Issaquah's human services campus.

  • Recognizing that businesses are attracted to Issaquah's beauty and amazing hiking trails, I worked to protect the trailhead on Squak Mountain, protected the buffer along 24th Ave. NE, and worked to set Issaquah's first tree canopy goal.
